  • Live Speech is an Accessibility feature on Apple devices that allows those with speech impairments to communicate via text during a phone call.
  • To enable it, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Speech, then Live Speech, and toggle on.
  • You can also enable Guided Access to make it easier to turn on and access Live Speech during a call.
  • To activate it during a call, press the side/home button three times.
  • A menu will pop up; select Live Speech.
  • Type your message, and tap the Speak button for your iPhone to speak it aloud.
  • To replay the same message, press the Redo button.
  • To stop it, press the Stop button, or delete the message by pressing the trash can icon to write a new message.
  • To change the language, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Live Speech, then Voices, and select your preferred language.
  • To use your own voice, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Personal Voice, and tap Create a Personal Voice.
