How to Remove the Yellow Triangle Warning on Windows C Drive
1 min read
Summary
A yellow triangle on a Windows computer drive, particularly C drive, usually means BitLocker encryption is disabled, an update requires a reboot, or a firmware upgrade is pending
If there are no other signs of disk failure, the yellow triangle can be ignored and the issue is trivial
To remove the yellow triangle, enable BitLocker encryption for the C drive in Control Panel, or enter cmd in the search menu and click Run as administrator to open the Command Prompt and temporarily turn off encryption
For an unfinished update, go to System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters and click Run next to Windows Update, or use Quick Assist through free Microsoft support
For a firmware upgrade that is taking too long, wait for it to complete, or restore and reset the device, using a cloud download rather than a local reinstall
