While Windows has its own search function and run command as part of its OS, these can often be slower when searching for files or applications due to the UI clutter.
The PowerToys application has a new feature called Command Palette which allows for instantaneous searches for files, folders, apps, system commands, and web searches.
It is very quick, using minimal system resources, and can be launched at any time using the keyboard shortcut Win + Alt + Space.
Command Palette also allows for the installation of applications quickly via the Search WinGet shortcut, and allows access to the registry editor keys directly by pasting in the registry path.
For web searches, it provides a minimalistic interface for browsing compared to Chrome or Edge, and likewise allows for bookmarking shortcuts and the use of extensions.
It also has functions for natural language query and instant calculations and conversions.
