Summary
Telecoms giant T-Mobile has been hit by a second cyber attack, just nine months after the company revealed its customer data was sold on the dark web following a costly data breach.
The firm confirmed yesterday that some of the data stolen in August 2022 was leaked on the dark web, following a ransomware attack on a third-party service provider.
The data included customer information such as names, birth dates, social security numbers and driver’s licence numbers.
T-Mobile has informed affected customers and offered them two years of free identity protection services.
The company said that there was “no indication” that customer financial data was compromised.
