More VMware cloud partners axed as Broadcom launches new invite-only program

VMware cloud service providers (CSPs) that did not receive an invitation to Broadcom’s new partner programme, which begins in November and is only open to a select few, have been dismissed.
Current CSPs have been informed that their partnerships will not be renewed beyond October 31, the last day they are permitted to operate as usual.
Businesses that utilise VMware technology through a discarded CSP will have to find alternative methods to renew their VMware licenses, which may result in delays or confusion, increased prices, and the demand for migration to other platforms.
Since acquiring VMware, Broadcom has reduced the number of businesses permitted to resell and provide support for its products, cutting business ties with many CSP partners and demanding that members of its new partner programme have a minimum of 3,500 processor cores.
The white-label programme allowing smaller CSPs to work through authorised VMware partners is also being discontinued.
