ChatGPT made up a product feature out of thin air, so this company created it

Soundslice, a platform that allows musicians to synchronize notation with audio and video recordings, has introduced a new feature for importing ASCII tablature—a simple text-based guitar notation format that the company had never previously supported.
This development came about after Soundslice discovered that ChatGPT was telling users that the service could import ASCII tablature, causing a rise in confused users attempting to upload the format and creating the need for this new feature.
Adrian Holovaty, co-founder of Soundslice, noted that AI models like ChatGPT generating false information with apparent confidence is known as “confabulation” in the AI research world.
This is not the first time ChatGPT has exhibited this behaviour, since its public release in November 2022, users have been using it as a replacement for search engines, with many posing questions and the bot providing false or misleading information.
This suggests there is a long way to go in terms of improving AI technology.
