Anthropic summons the spirit of Flash games for the AI age
1 min read
Summary
AI company Anthropic has expanded its Artifacts document management system to create a personal AI app gallery in the style of early 2000s Flash games, but running on modern web code.
Users can construct and share interactive applications within Claude’s chatbot interface, with a new API functionality enabling artifacts to interact with Claude.
Applications are organised into categories such as ‘Learn something’, ‘Life hacks’, and ‘Be creative’, with examples including an interactive writing editor, a story generator, a molecule visualiser, and an ‘Anthropic office simulator’.
Users can access and modify the prompts and chats that created these examples and can utilise the feature on Claude’s Free, Pro, and Max plans.
Independent AI researcher Simon Willison commented that Anthropic had successfully transformed a minor improvement into a fully-fledged new product.
