The Fairphone 6 no longer feels like a compromise (except in the US)

Summary
The Fairphone 6 is the company’s first phone that The Verge would recommend to buyers, thanks to its reparability and commitment to ethical production and long-term software support, although it is only available to purchase in the US via its privacy-centric /e/OS version through Murena, and not directly from Fairphone.
The phone is smoother and more powerful than previous generations, with a 120Hz display, 8GB RAM and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, however, its cameras continue to be a weakness, and its 30W wired charging is neither fast nor wireless.
What makes the Fairphone 6 unique is its modular accessories that screw onto the back of the device, its durability and extended five-year warranty, eight years of software updates and seven Android version updates, and substantially reduced environmental impact compared to rival products.
While The Verge acknowledges the compromises that buyers will have to make in order to buy the Fairphone 6, its overall conclusion is a positive one, particularly when the phone is priced against midrange competition in the UK and Europe, rather than the flagship competitors it must face in the US.
