Taiwan-based company HTC has launched its first pair of smart glasses, called Vive Eagle, which feature built-in speakers, a 12MP ultrawide camera and an AI voice assistant.
The glasses, which are available only in Taiwan at present, are competitively priced at $520 and include Zeiss sun lenses, with options for four frame colours.
The AI-powered image translation tool can translate what the wearer is seeing into 13 different languages, and other features include recording reminders, asking for restaurant recommendations, and taking notes.
The smart glasses, which weigh 49 grams, are similar to competing products including Meta’s Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses.
It is as yet unclear whether HTC will launch the product in North America or Europe.
