Moving is a stressful experience as it is, but having to go through all of your belonging, deciding what to keep, what to throw away, and what to donate, makes the whole experience even worse.
During his younger years, the author had to move a few times, and those experiences have taught him the importance of organizing and getting rid of unnecessary belongings.
In the beginning, it was very difficult, and there were many things that he threw away that he eventually regretted, but over time, he learned the skill of deciding what’s necessary and what’s not.
Some of the tips following this author’s strategy are: start with the things that you don’t really care about, this will give you momentum and make it easier as you keep going.
If you have a hard time deciding whether to keep something or not, ask yourself whether it will add any value to your life, and if the answer is no, it’s probably best to get rid of it.
