Rode’s tiny wireless mic can now connect directly to your iPhone without a dongle

Summary
Australia-based microphone company Rode has released a new firmware that allows its $149 Wireless Micro microphone to connect directly to iPhones over Bluetooth, instead of requiring a USB-C dongle receiver.
The new firmware also introduces a new noise reduction tool to help minimise background noise when recording.
While simpler to use, the new direct connect feature is only compatible with iOS devices, and can only record from a single microphone at a time.
It also has a shorter range when using Bluetooth, rather than the wireless receiver.
The new firmware also includes an output gain control and the ability to record audio to separate channels for more flexibility in editing.
