The cargo-carrying Gitamini robot is getting a Star Wars droid makeover

• Italian company Piaggio Fast Forward has released a Star Wars-themed edition of its cargo-carrying Gita robot.
• Called G1T4-M1N1, the unit features decals, lights and sound effects in homage to the film series, and is available to buy via the companies’ websites for $2,875,or$400 more than the standard edition.
• Gita robots are autonomous, following their owners at up to 6mph, and carry a cargo container with a 20lb capacity.
• The special edition robot has the same functionality as the standard model, with additional features including custom droid sounds and lights that communicate its battery life and modes such as pairing or parking.
• The company has collaborated with Disney and Lucasfilm on the project.
