Summary
Meta has announced a wider availability for some of its Ray-Ban smart glasses features previously only accessible to members of its Early Access Program, including live translation.
It is now available to all markets where the smart glasses are available and supports English, French, Italian and Spanish speakers, with the option to download a language pack in advance to use the feature without Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
There are also new colour lens combinations for its Skyler frame style, including shiny chalky grey with sapphire Transitions lenses and shiny black with clear or green tinted lenses.
The AI assistant feature is due for general availability in the US and Canada and will allow the AI to see what the user sees for more natural conversations.
Music app access is expanding beyond the US and Canada, however, the option to ask the AI to play music or provide information remains English-language exclusive.
The AI is due to roll out to all supported countries in the EU next week and Meta plans to launch its Ray-Ban glasses in Mexico, India and the United Arab Emirates shortly.
