Fortnite is a popular battle royale game but its performance can be hindered on lower end PCs, due to lag, stuttering and poor graphics
However, there are several ways to optimise the gameplay experience, even on modest hardware
Ensure that your PC meets the minimum specifications of Windows 7/8/10 64-bit, a Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM, Intel HD 4000 GPU or better, and 16GB of free storage
Lower the resolution and other settings for better frame rates, and turn off any settings that are not needed
It is also useful to configure Windows for maximum gaming performance, for example, by turning on Game Mode and updating graphics drivers
Use performance-boosting utilities, but avoid overheating the PC as this can affect its performance
Optimise the network connection by using a wired Ethernet connection in place of WiFi, and close bandwidth-heavy applications when playing Fortnite
