In December 2014, a hacking group called Lizard Squad launched a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, disrupting the core services of tens of millions of gamers on Christmas Day.
The group’s members, most of whom were teenagers, spoke to the media and even carried out an interview with a Sky News reporter who found a member of the group living a few miles from the television network’s London newsroom.
