CompTIA Security+ is seen as a demonstration of basic knowledge of cyber security and builds foundations in networking, security operations, risk management and more
Tip 1: it is normal to feel like you don’t know enough before booking an exam; set a goal and schedule the exam and plan your revision around this goal
Tip 2: memorising ports is not enough, understand the security implications of the services running on those ports and defend against cyber attacks
Tip 3: threat actor types should be memorised in the same way you memorise characters in a TV series
Tip 4: performance-based questions can make a difference to your score, so don’t ignore them — practice performance-based scenarios
On exam day, do a system test and use the same network and computer you used for practice tests.
Answer all questions in one hour, then review and check for trick questions and red herrings.
