YouTubers Tales of Weird Stuff and The Oldskool PC have both recently covered the Mindscape Music Board from 1985, an ISA card that was bundled with Bank Street Music Writer software for IBM PCs.
Only four of the cards are thought to still exist, with Tales of Weird Stuff owning one of them.
Based around two General Instruments AY-3-8913 programmable sound generators, the card enabled the output of six voices, all of which were mapped to six instruments in the music writer software.
While the card only really saw use in this software, efforts are now underway to reproduce the board due to the well-known nature of the GI chip.
