A digital sticky note has been created by developer gokux using a Waveshare 2.9 inch e-paper display, connecting it to a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3 miniature programmable motherboard, a battery, and a switch to create a simple device on which users can write notes which are kept on the display without requiring the user to keep a mobile app open.
Access is currently via a web page, and the developer has released the project as open source, inviting contributors to refine the concept, perhaps by adding a magnet to the back to allow it to stick more easily to surfaces.
Comparable projects adopted by Hackaday include a 2,000 V electronic sticky note, and a plotter that writes messages on masking tape.
