When subjects such as power spikes and lightning protection come up there are plenty of “solutions” being offered such as power bars with built-in MOV protection, but these have their limits and often don’t offer the protection needed especially in rural and remote areas.

Taking into account all the possible forms of surge protection and overvoltage protection that could be needed such as lightning class gas discharge tubes, thermal fuses for aging MOV protection and common-mode chokes to kill EMI they developed ZeusFilter 1.0.
While it might not be a commercial-grade device, it is a working prototype that was tested on a range of equipment for effectiveness, something most people will not have the ability or resources to do.
As always, high-voltage projects can be dangerous and should only be attempted by those experienced in evaluating and dealing with the risks involved.
