MorPhlex: The TPU Filament That Goes Soft After You Print It
1 min read
Summary
3D printing TPU filament, such as the new BIQU MorPhlex product, can produce 3D printed objects that are soft and squidgy, such as shoes or slippers.
This is due to the fact that TPU is known for its elasticity as a filament, even before it has been printed.
After printing, the hardness of the resulting object depends on the temperature at which it is printed and other variables, and can be measured using a Shore A hardness meter.
In tests, ModBot found that the BIQU MorPhlex TPU produced prints with a hardness of between 80 and 85 Shore A, which is slightly harder than the 75 Shore A hardness that the company claims for its product.
