Enter the Pet Hacks contest with a clever way of knowing when your cat (or cats) wants to come in.
Using a radar sensor, a Bluetooth LE tag and an ESP32 board with a LoRa module, the radar detects a presence at the door.
If the radar senses a tagged cat, the ESP32 board will look for the cat’s Bluetooth tag and notify the owner via a portable device with an e-paper display and a buzzer via LoRa.
The radar means the sensor can stay out of reach on the correct side of the door, and works day or night.
A step-by-step guide to making your own device is available on GitHub, along with an in-depth project log.
