Nintendo Switch 2 (or Nintendo Switch Lite 2) has now been released globally, and tech reviewer TronicsFix has carried out an initial teardown of the new console, revealing the hardware for the first time.
The console features a custom 8x ARM Cortex A78C processor from NVIDIA, and a 5220 mAh lithium ion battery.
The onboard microphone and headphone jack are attached by ribbon cable to the motherboard, and the magnetic controller interfaces are modular, allowing for easier repair or replacement.
The Joy-Con controller that ships with the system has been improved from the original, with larger analogue sticks to address the widespread issue of “stick drift” in the original model.
Unfortunately, the USB ports and storage are still soldered to the motherboard, making repairs difficult.
