YouTuber Dina Amin and Simone Giertz bought a series of old flip clocks from a flea market and disassembled them in order to repurpose the parts into a single 24-minute timer.
Amin wanted to create something that would help her to avoid distractions and stay focused on the task at hand.
She also planned to use the section of the display that showed the minutes to show an animation she was working on, but the original components were too damaged to achieve this.
Instead, she used the drum from an air fryer timer and an electric motor to drive the flip display, although she had to switch from displaying numbers to a filling yellow circle in order to accurately time her allotted 24 minutes.
