An automated wire-stripper and cutter has been built by “ProjectsWithRed”, using an ESP32 to control the action.
The device uses two NEMA 17 stepper motors that control the vertically moving cutting and stripping blades, with a third stepper controlling a 3D printer extruder to move the wire through the device.
A rotary encoder offers control, along with a small OLED display that enables the user to select the length of wire and the amount they wish to have stripped.
The build is designed to save the user time in what is otherwise a repetitive and tedious process, and results in the processed wire being collected in a 3D-printed bin.
