An Atari ST enthusiast has created a version of the classic 1990s computer game Doom for the Atari ST, calling it Doom8088ST.
Based on an earlier port of the game called Doom8088, which was designed to replicate the game on the 1980s IBM PCs that the original game was designed for, the new version is designed to work on the much more constrained hardware of the Atari ST, and can be tuned to varying degrees of quality depending on the power of the machine.
At the lowest settings the game runs smoothly even on an unmodified Atari ST, with better visuals available on more powerful setups.
The creator has posted the game to GitHub for others to try.
