Summary
UK-based Nick Gallard has created aworking replica of the original 1984 Apple Macintosh personal computer using the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller and a 2-inch TFT LCD screen.
The Pico Mac Nano is 63mm tall and is a 5.5:1 scale replica of the original Mac.
The project is based on previous work by Matt Evans, who created a Pico Mac that could emulate the original Macintosh operating system.
Gallard has made the 3D printer files and firmware for the Pico Mac Nano available on GitHub, and he is selling assembled replicas through his website, 1bitrainbow.
The miniature computer resembles the original Macintosh with a beige case, display bezel and keyboard, and uses a CR2032 lithium battery for power.
It is controlled via a USB-C port and has an SD card slot on the back, but there is no micro SD slot as seen on the original computer.
