The Aquassist is an IoT-connected automatic fish feeder made from 3D-printed parts that can be controlled via a web-based app.
It consists of six 3D-printed parts and works using an Archimedes screw to ensure consistent portions of fish food are dispensed into the fish tank.
The mechanism is operated by an SG90 continuous rotation servo, which rotates the screw to dispense food according to a schedule set via the app.
The Wemos D1 mini compact ESP8266 board acts as the brain of the operation, connecting to Firebase to check the feeding schedule and detect when the “Feed Now” button has been pressed.
Users can set feeding times or trigger immediate feedings via the app, accessible from any internet-enabled device.
