Summary
The organiser of a controversial new tournament for athletes who take performance-enhancing drugs has announced the event will be held in Las Vegas in May 2026.
The Enhanced Games has three main sporting events: swimming, track and weightlifting.
It was announced at the Games that an “enhanced athlete” had broken two 50-metre freestyle swimming world records, adding legitimacy to the event.
The tournament founder Aron D’Souza wants to “disrupt” the world of sport and has accused the IOC of not paying athletes fairly, whilst making large amounts of money themselves.
The event is also being used as a platform to launch a consumer business selling performance- enhancing drugs to the public.
