Amazon’s Project Kuiper strikes its first satellite internet deal with an airline

Amazon’s satellite-based internet service, Project Kuiper, has partnered with JetBlue to offer in-flight Wi-Fi from 2027.
It is the first such deal for Project Kuiper, and comes as it tries to compete with Elon Musk’s Starlink, which has deals with several airlines including United Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Air France.
Project Kuiper is set to launch its first satellites in 2027, and the service will offer lower latency and more reliability for passengers.
Amazon has also partnered with Airbus to build its service into its aircraft.
It recently carried out a speed test achieving downloads of over a gigabit, with customers set to start using the service this year ahead of a 2026 rollout.
