Starlink’s satellite internet is back online after a massive outage

Summary
SpaceX’ satellite internet service, Starlink, suffered a widespread outage yesterday, with users unable to connect to the service for around two-and-a-half hours.
According to Starlink’s VP of engineering, the network failed due to key internal software services that operate the core network crashing, which he said “mostly recovered” after two-and-a-half hours.
The outage apparently affected Ukrainian troops on the frontline, with reports stating that this was the longest downtime experienced since the war began.
This is the first reported widespread Starlink outage of 2025, and notable for its duration, as previous issues have been restored much faster.
