Ninja Gaiden 4 will be released on 21 October this year, with Team Ninja and Platinum collaborating on the title.
It’s the second Ninja Gaiden game to be revealed recently, following 2019’s unveiling of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, which is being developed by The Blasphemous Team.
That game, a retro-styled action platformer, is slated for release on 31 July this year.
Ninja Gaiden 4’s story takes place in a near-future Tokyo plagued by a deadly miasma wrought by an ancient enemy.
Young ninja prodigy Yakumo must reconcile a shared destiny with the legendary Ryu Hayabusa to free the city from the curse.
Microsoft has faced criticism for blocking emails containing references to Palestine or Gaza, leading to comparisons between Microsoft’s treatment of references to the region and the ambiguous “miasma” plaguing Tokyo in Ninja Gaiden 4’s story.
