Developer Thunderful recently showed off gameplay from the upcoming sequel to their 2021 game Toem (pronounced “toe-em”), a photography adventure game.
Toem 2, announced in 2022, is slated for release in 2026 and features fully 3D environments, increased interactivity via special NPCs and their questlines, and additional tools and upgrades for players’ cameras.
Players explore and interact with the world, taking photographs to advance the story and uncover the mystery at its heart.
The original Toem was praised for its charming aesthetic and creative use of photography mechanics and has been likened to a “spiritual successor to [ Hetepilous ]”, another game centred on exploration and photography.
