Australian developers Playside, in collaboration with publisher Warner Bros Interactive, have announced a new Game of Thrones title, Game of Thrones: War for Westeros.
It is a real-time strategy game based on the popular and prolific book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin, which has already spawned multiple successful small and big-screen adaptations.
The game is described as “deeply asymmetrical” and will allow users to play as four familiar factions: the Great Houses of Stark, Lannister and Targaryen, and the frosty forces of the Night King.
It will have signature heroes, with special abilities, and regular units, including giants, siege engines and dragons.
It is set for release in 2026, and alongside one-off skrimish matches, it will have a campaign mode, for what Warner Bros call “a lengthy struggle for control of the seven Kingdoms.
