Gaming blog Rock, Paper, Shotgun has highlighted PlayStation’s newest game, Sword of the Sea.
Due for release on August 19, Sword of the Sea sees the player mounted on a huge sword, surfing across a fantasy desert landscape.
The game looks to combine elements from other games, namely the desert-crossing jetbike segment from Sable, and the hiking and exploration of Journey.
The article claims that the art director from Journey is currently leading the development team on Sword of the Sea.
The player takes on the role of a “Wraith”, tasked with restoring life to a desolate world by exploring shipwrecks, sunken ruins and petrified battlefields, bringing fish and other creatures with them as they go.
The game developer, Giant Squid, are perhaps best known for the peaceful ocean diving game Abzu, or the speedy running game The Pathless.
