Helldivers 2's battle for Super Earth makes Chinese news following the successful and slightly review bomby defense of Equality-On-Sea

Gaming influencer campaign Rock, Paper, Shotgun has reported that Strategic Amendment Update Five in the co-op shooter Helldivers 2 saw players defend two cities from an invasion of Helldivers 2’s alien racers the Illuminate.
Players held off the invasion in the capital city of Prosperity City, and also in the Chinese city of Equality-On-Sea.
The defence of Equality-On-Sea proved controversial, receiving disproportionate attention from Chinese players who review bombed the game when they were unable to take control of the city, due to gameplay mechanics that meant the city’s defence percentage could not be pushed to 100%.
This was attributed to a translation issue which led Chinese players to believe they had an opportunity to liberate the city during the invasion, when the city had to be fully secured before progression was possible.
The defenders of the city were praised in a Chinese news report that reflected positively on the game’s multicore gameplay and transcultural appeal.
