Whereas other games in the franchise offer the ability to play in pairs, Elden Ring appears to have been developed with the assumption that players will work together in threes
However, a modder nicknamed Yui has provided a mod for the game that allows players to play together in a duo without interfering with any gameplay functions or impacting on banning from regular online play.
The seamless co-op mod allows gamers to set up two or three-player lobbies and play online together without the usual complexities found in FromSoftware games.
Yui says she will build on the basic mod over time, but for now, it is a great way for couples (or other duos) to play together without being “third wheeled” in a random grouping.
