Dandelion Void is a plant bastard survival horror from Project Zomboid modders
1 min read
Summary
Dandelion Void is a single-player explorer ‘em up, where the player takes on the role of an astronaut stranded on a hostile, derelict ark.
The ark has been neglected for centuries, with life support failing and the once-static plant life now moving and incredibly dangerous.
The game features a novel system whereby the player must pry open sealed doors, not knowing whether valuable supplies or a horrible space anomaly awaits on the other side.
Other features include crafting, ageing life support and stockpiling to survive its intermittentFAILURES, and dangerous, agile plant life.
The game is being developed by Manzanita Interactive, rooted in the Project Zomboid modding community, and will come with a custom map editor and Lua API, with a release date still to be announced.
Rock Paper Shotgun suggests the game will likely appeal to fans of sci-fi horror, especially given the dev team’s background in the creation of terrifying, behaviour-animating plant life.
