CD Projekt has released details of its earnings results and in them revealed that the next Cyberpunk game has entered the pre-production stage, and has officially shed its Project Orion codename, simply being referred to as Cyberpunk 2.
This suggests that the game will be set in the future, in line with the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in the year 2077 CE, with further rumours suggesting that it will be set in Chicago, with creator Mike Pondsmith stating that the new game will see players return to Night City before heading to a new city which is “Chicago gone wrong”.
No official announcements have been made about the game’s setting or release schedule, with CD Projekt only stating that it wants to explore themes such as homelessness and the wealth gap in the game.
