Summary
Frame Break and Amplifier Studios’ LIGHTYEAR FRONTIER has been in Early Access for over a year, with a planned update due in June 2022.
The “Shifting Gears” update will expand the map size to allow for “large-scale farming” as the main progression system will be adjusted to place higher emphasis on farming.
Other features coming in the update include a new mod chip system to upgrade mechs and automated drone watering.
Frame Break and Amplifier Studios decided to rework the narrative focussed on PIP-3R after feedback that the character came across as irritating.
Players will now learn about the story through Inspection Points and Artifact Findings.
