EA never grasped Dragon Age's value as an RPG, says Inquisition writer

Summary
Former Dragon Age writer, David Gaider, has been discussing the future of the game series and its relationship with Electronic Arts (EA).
He feels that Dragon Age was never a good match for EA, who had Expectations of failure and were surprised when the games succeeded.
In comparison, EA felt that the potential of the Mass Effect franchise was much bigger, as it mixed action with role-playing, and they were consistently disappointed when each game in the franchise didn’t meet their high Expectations.
Gaider believes that EA attempted to move Dragon Age into the action space in its more recent iteration, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and were reluctant to double down on pure role-playing due to a perceived cap on the audience size.
He gives the example of Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian, which has grown the audience for pure role-playing games.
There has been no news on a new Dragon Age game, and BioWare, the developers of the series, have been stripped back to a core team working on Mass Effect 5.
