Campfire Cabal, a studio that was shut down by its parent company Embracer Group as part of its “scorched earth restructuring policy”, has announced that it is back in business and has been working in secret on a new game in its Expeditions series of RPGs.
The studio announced on its website that it had been told to close by Embracer two years previously, but that it had subsequently reached an agreement to continue to exist with a smaller staff.
It has now been given the go-ahead to resume full production on the new game, which is set in a new historical period and part of the world for the series.
The studio behind the original Expeditions games, Logic Artists, was subsumed into Dynasty Studios, which is owned by THQ, who subsequently handed the series to Campfire Cabal.
