The RTX 5060, which launched on May 12th, has led to accusations that Nvidia has been using underhand tactics to manipulate press coverage in its favour.
Press outlets that have previously run positive stories on Nvidia have been offered the chance to run preview pieces on the new GPU, but only if they agree to certain conditions set by Nvidia, such as permitted games for benchmarking and a requirement to focus on DLSS 4’s Multi Frame Generation performance.
Those that have not run flattering pieces in the past, or that refuse to accept these conditions, have not been offered previews and will not be able to provide full reviews of the new GPU until a public release of the required drivers later today.
Accusations have also been made that Nvidia has pressured reviewers to provide more focus on DLSS and MFG when reviewing other GPUs.
The company failed to comment directly on these accusations, but a spokesperson did tell Rock Paper Shotgun: “We worked with a few chosen media on previews with a pre-release driver.
