If Letters Had Pants is a confusing but joyful word puzzle roguelite with a touch of archaeology

Summary
If Letters Had Pants is a new word-based game that involves putting pants on letters to give them modifiers, archaeological excavation and word grid puzzling.
The game comes from Paris-based PUNKCAKE Délicieux, the team behind 2018’s Balatro, a game about collecting baseball cards that also randomly generated dungeons to explore.
In Letters, the player must not only consider the high-scoring value of a word, but also its impact on their dig for relics beneath the grid.
As their museum expands, new modifiers and letters become available, and can be used to leverage more points or valuable artefacts.
The game is available on Itch.io and the developers plan to add localisation for English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
PUNKCAKE operates a subscription model in which it releases a new game each month. Previous titles include Shotgun King and Build The Sun.
