Lush pure stealth metroidvania The Siege And The Sandfox launches in May

Summary
Rock, Paper, Shotgun writer Scott Butterworth introduces The Siege and the Sandfox, a new stealth game in the Metroidvania genre, developed by UK studio Cardboard Sword.
Due to be released on 20 May, the game is set in a desert city where the Sandfox, a notorious assassin and royal protector, catches the city’s Queen murdering the King.
The story sees the Sandfox journeying upwards through a dungeon to deal with an ancient evil, making friends and avoiding guards along the way.
The game appears to have an Oriental flavour, with “a generous, greasy cut of 16-bit orientalism” and both Prince of Persia and Blasphemous cited as stylistic comparisons.
Cardboard Sword, the game’s developers, are a team with considerable experience in the AAA games sector, and Butterworth respectfully notes that the studio’s senior members are not in fact “an army of aggressively youthful game-makers” as he sarcastically imagined them to be.
