Gaming company Blizzard has announced that its action role-playing game (RPG) Diablo 4 will include crossovers, or “collabs”, with other franchises as part of its eighth season in the coming months.
The company released an animated teaser depicting a character dressed in armour resembling the protagonist of the dark fantasy anime series Berserk.
While the teaser generated interest in the potential crossover, some fans criticised the idea of collaborations as a marketing tactic.
Regardless, Diablo 4’s eighth season, Belial’s Return, will debut on 29 April, with the Berserk collaboration expected to arrive before the season’s end in July.
Fans believe that, at the least, the collaboration will offer cosmetic items, but may also include ramifications for gameplay.
