Arkane founder, Raphaël Colantonio, has spoken about his ideas for a new Dishonored game but suggests that the chances of it being developed are low.
Colantonio expressed his views on AI and the future of immersive simulations (IMs) on a recent episode of the Quad Damage podcast.
He emphasised his optimism for the use of AI in IMs, highlighting that AI could improve designers’ tools, rather than doing their job for them.
He also spoke of how team sizes have increased dramatically, stating that making games with 1,000 people is not sensible and that smaller teams of 20 to 50 people work better.
Colantonio’s current studio, WolfEye, is developing an unnamed first-person RPG with a team of around 50 people, which will incorporate the ingenuity of Dishonored and Prey.
He emphasised that although AI can improve tools, there is still work that humans must do, and thatAI should only be used to assist artists.
