Space Marine 2 devs push back on calls for a difficulty mode above Absolute - we are almost at our limit

Summary
Saber Interactive, developers of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, are pushing back on calls for a new, even harder difficulty mode for the game.
The developer recently introduced the Absolute difficulty setting, but gamers have found this to be too easy.
However, Saber says it is already at the limit of how difficult it can make the game without it becoming unfair and unenjoyable.
While the average win rate on Absolute is 60%, this is likely down to the fact that the setting has to be unlocked, therefore players are generally experienced.
Only 12% of average daily play time is spent on Absolute, and only 15% of weekly active players play Absolute at all.
Therefore, to introduce another mode would mean splitting the matchmaking pool even further.
Instead, the developer is looking at introducing a new set of modifiers, similar to the Tight Formation mechanic, to make things more difficult.
