Sports Interactive has announced the next iteration of its football management sim, with the suitably titled Football Manager 2026.
The game’s development was reportedly refocused following the delay and cancellation of its predecessor, Football Manager 2025, which was originally slated for release towards the end of 2024, but was ultimately cancelled despite re-setting expectations.
No release date or platform availability has been announced yet, but the game’s trailer does tease a move to the Unity engine, which the studio says will offer “our most immersive and visually rich Football Manager experience yet.”
It remains to be seen whether the new title will appear this year as planned, or whether the development issues that affected its predecessor will result in another slip in schedule.
