After being wrongly banned from Steam over sexual content rules, horror game Vile: Exhumed launches for free

Summary
Indie horror game Vile: Exhumed, created by Canadian studio Final Girl Games, explores adult themes via a mixture of FMV and practical effects.
The game had been due for release on Steam on 22 July, before its store page was taken down by Valve.
According to the developers, this was due to the game featuring “sexual content with depictions of real people”, despite featuring no unscreened nudity, sex acts or pornography.
Developers Final Girl Games and publisher DreadXP stated that this sort of censorship constitutes a “direct attack on creative expression and artistic freedom”.
The game has since been made available to download for free, with the option for players to pay for a download and donate 50% of the profits to a Canadian charity that supports women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
