Summary
The upcoming arena combat game Bloodgrounds, from developer Exordium Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment, transports players to a Roman-themed fantasy world, where they can compete in bloody battles in front of a lively crowd.
Players can select their gladiator, with classes ranging from thugs to archers, and fight through a variety of arenas, earning the favour of the crowd before retiring to their villa to manage their gladiator squad.
Between battles, players can upgrade their squad’s skills and equipment, as well as build and upgrade facilities in their villa, such as healing and recruitment centres.
The game’s world map allows players to unlock new arenas and features, and the game also has a light city-building element.
Bloodgrounds is set to be released this year, with a demo available on Steam.
The developers previously created the shoot ‘em up Last Encounter, while Daedalic is also publishing the recently-released Roman-themed 4X strategy game Yield! Fall of Rome.
